ARRESTS Erin Brockovich, 39, eponymous heroine of Julia Roberts' latest hit, is headed back to court. After an April 26 sting near L.A., Brockovich's ex-husband, Shawn Brown, 38, and Harley-riding ex-beau, Jorg Halaby, 46 (played in the movie by Aaron Eckhart), were arrested for trying to extort $310,000 from Brockovich and her boss, lawyer Ed Masry (Albert Finney in the film). The two allegedly threatened to tell tabloids that Brockovich and Masry had had sex and she was an unfit mother. Each was released on $50,000 bail.

LAWSUITS In the wake of an L.A. traffic accident last April, It Girl Gwyneth Paltrow, 27, was slapped with a lawsuit April 24 by L.A. siblings Veronica Cabello, 28, and H. Jorge Arauz, 32. They claim neck and back injuries after Paltrow's rented Mercedes allegedly rear-ended their vehicle. The star's lawyer couldn't be reached.... On April 24, Latin heartthrob Enrique Iglesias, 25, and Interscope Records sued the singer's former label, Fonovisa, Inc., for copyright infringement, breach of contract, and fraud. Iglesias claims Fonovisa illegally included his hit "Bailamos" on two compilation albums after the label's rights to the tune had expired. The singer seeks $3 million in damages. Fonovisa lawyers didn't return calls.

DEATHS Disco queen Vicki Sue Robinson, 46, who scored with the '76 hit "Turn the Beat Around," of cancer, April 27, in Wilton, Conn.... Russian-born eightysomething actress Lila Kedrova Howard, of heart failure, Feb. 16, in Sault Ste. Marie, Canada. She won a Tony and an Oscar for playing French prostitute Hortense in Zorba the Greek.
