FIGHTS

Silence of the Lambs sequel, in Florence, Italy despite
protests from local Green and Popular parties about filming a
murder scene at the city's historic Palazzo Vecchio, which
houses works by Michelangelo (and has seen its own savagery
through the ages). ''This will add nothing to Florence's prestige
in the world,'' party members wrote. The scene was shot as
planned.... Some Georgia officials are objecting to plans by
action star Wesley Snipes, 37, to start a camp outside Macon,
Ga., to train security agents for celebs. Putnam County recently
rejected Snipes' proposal for the site, partly because the area
is not zoned for weapons storage; he's appealing. The land is
next to a tract owned by the controversial United Nuwaubian
Nation of Moors, a sect that has long battled officials over
zoning. Snipes denies any ties to the group.
