Think of California Movie Maps as a star map on steroids. Courtesy of the California Division of Tourism, this downloadable drawing shows the Golden State divided into 12 regions and marked with the shooting locations of more than 200 movies; you can search for your faves by title, district, or star's name. In the High Sierra region, for example, Hollywoodites filmed Gunga Din, Bad Day at Black Rock, and, yes, High Sierra; Spartacus was shot near Hearst Castle. And the site designers steer clear of cine-snobbery: In their list of films for San Diego County, they even throw a bone to K-9. B+
