Slim Chance
Having just set a rap debut-week sales record, Eminem will soon debut as an actor — or will he? He's one of several music hotshots (Pras, Rah Digga, Vanilla Ice, Vitamin C, Mobb Deep, Killah Priest, Ras Kass, and Ja Rule) who play themselves in Da Hip-Hop Witch, a direct-to-video Blair Witchspoof due in August, in which some white kids stray into the hood. But Eminem has decided he'd rather end up on the cutting-room floor. Writer-director Dale Resteghini says Eminem signed a release, and he plans to keep the suddenly recalcitrant rapper's four scenes; Eminem's manager, Paul Rosenberg, says they're negotiating with the filmmakers to get the self-avowedly ''shady'' superstar excised from the indie flick.

Touch the Monkey
Patrons at a Jon Brion show at the L.A. club Largo last month knew something was up when the stage was draped in black for a ''surprise'' opening artist. The bad news: Said act, Klone, was a pretentious German techno-synth-pop duo. The good news: Klone is led by Dieter, of Saturday Night Live''Sprockets'' fame, a.k.a. Mike Myers. Myers is preparing to film a Dieter movie for Universal, and though no one would comment, we're betting the film will have a musical component. The set lasted more than half an hour, with Myers on one synth and an unnamed look-alike — purportedly Dieter's ''brother'' — on another. Highlights included ''I'm as Happy as a Little Girl'' (sung to the tune of the Beatles' ''I'm Happy Just to Dance with You'') and a Germanic rap version of the Beverly Hillbillies theme. Klone also played a tune Dieter claimed was their one hit as a songwriting duo: the Mentos jingle.
