JAILED Drummer Tommy Lee, 37, was ordered May 26 to spend five days in an L.A. jail for violating his probation by drinking alcohol. Lee, who served four months in '98 for felony spousal abuse against then wife Pamela Anderson, was also ordered to attend Alcoholics Anonymous and face random drug testing. His lawyer reportedly says that soon after the couple's most recent split, she told authorities he drank champagne with her on New Year's; her publicist had no comment.

A star of the Glenn Miller Orchestra whose Southern voice made hits of ''Chattanooga Choo Choo'' and ''Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree,'' he led the band after Miller's 1944 death.... TV pioneer Al Simon, 88, of complications from Alzheimer's disease, May 18, in L.A. He produced seminal sitcoms like I Love Lucy, The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres, and Mister Ed, and helped develop the ''three-camera system,'' which facilitated the rebroadcast of shows filmed live, and paved the way for reruns.
