Lead Performance: P.J. Olsson; Genre: Indie Rock

On ''Good Dream,'' this techno-folkie spurts out viscous verbiage like an auctioneer. On the beat-backed ''Visine,'' he shrouds a chiming chorus in a hallucinogenic haze. But despite ambitious genre-hopping, P.J. Olsson's debut Words for Living is more irritating than inspired. After hearing him chant ''I am a dandelion,'' you wish he'd follow the next lyric and ''float, float, float away.'' C+
