One doesn't listen to Grandaddy so much as absorb them. Their melodies, earthy but otherwordly, infiltrate your head before retreating into space. If they didn't mention human artifacts like Italian leather and stolen guns, or terrestrial landforms like lakes and glaciers, it'd be easy to believe their uncommonly pretty music came from some distant universe.
