This Will Be Laughing Week (2012)

EW's GRADE
B

Details Lead Performance: Ultimate Fakebook; Genre: Pop

The trio Ultimate Fakebook may hail from Manhattan, Kan., but judging from the Soul Asylum-meets-Replacements sound, its heart is in late-'80s Minneapolis. Bill McShane's nasal vocals on cuts like ''She Don't Even Know My Name'' may weaken This Will Be Laughing Week, but it can't diminish the joyous stomp of ''I'm All Out of It Now'' or the lulling calm of ''A Million Hearts,'' a pathos-drenched prom theme.
