When a local Czech firemen's association throws a party, it's decorum that goes up in flames. Beauty queens are literally dragged to the stage, charity raffle prizes are pilfered, and bawdy couples get it on in this lovably ludicrous comedy -- which was nominated for a foreign-language film Oscar -- from director Milos Forman (Man on the Moon). The broadly played film is clearly a satire, but, at the time of its release, 40,000 Czech firefighters resigned in protest. B+
