If Play made you curious about Moby's back catalog, Mobysongs, the bandwagon-jumping set by his former label, is the place to start. No blues or gospel samples here, but the same spiritual-techno vibe is evident in brilliant early singles like ''Go,'' sighing-keyboard instrumentals, and a hefty share of genre-crossing cuts from 1995's everlasting Everything Is Wrong. The net effect is Moby as the best kind of prog-techno guru — and give Elektra extra credit for omitting his misguided excursions into hardcore punk. A
