Video Review: 'Simpatico' (2012)

Criminally wasting a cast of former Oscar nominees (including Sharon Stone), the ''opened-up'' Sam Shepard play Simpatico bogs down in murky motivations and showy dramatics. It revolves around a wealthy horse breeder (Bridges) and his down-and-out ex-friend (Nolte), who once fixed a race and are still haunted by guilt and self-loathing. But what's this about exchanging personalities? What may have been resonant on stage feels forced on screen. C-
