File this under disturbing trend of the week: Pimping is Hollywood's newest obsession. The Hughes Brothers' documentary, American Pimp (in theaters), explores the trade, while SNL vet Tim Meadows makes his film debut in October's The Ladies Man, playing quasi-pimp Leon Phelps. Former Disney Studios chief Joe Roth recently announced his decision to bring MediaTrip.com's cartoon Lil' Pimp to the big screen, and Paramount reportedly is eyeing the comedy Pimp Pasty. Time to cue up Jay-Z's ''Big Pimpin'.'' Mark Brooks and Peter Gilstrap, creators of the freckle-faced, 9-year-old Lil' Pimp, see no reason for concern. ''It's almost like 'pimpin'' doesn't mean [anything],'' says Brooks. Adds Gilstrap: ''It means player or cool guy. It's not like 'I have a stable of women who have sex for money.'''
