Despite all the headlines, Dennis Rodman isn't tired of the spotlight. The 38-year-old former Chicago Bulls forward and one-time blushing ''bride'' of Carmen Electra is now webcasting his infamous house parties live and uncensored at www.rodmantv.com. The concept is hardly unique. In Dallas, where the Worm once played with the NBA's Mavericks, a 26-year-old who legally changed his name to DotComGuy has been living off the Internet for the past nine months (www.dotcomguy.com). DotComGuy (who won't divulge his birth name), a huge Rodman fan who hosts weekly ''Saturday Net Live'' parties at the house he plans on staying in for a whole year, says, ''I don't think we'll be competing for demographics or fighting for viewers.'' Here's why:
MISSION
DotComGuy teaches the benefits of online shopping.
Party-hearty Rodman teaches visitors how to get drunk and break
stuff.
LOCATION
The ''DotCompound'' address is undisclosed to ''keep this
place from turning into a circus,'' says DotComGuy.
Rodman's
3,000-square-foot Newport Beach, Calif., house is such a circus
that the police have been summoned there by neighbors 50 times
since he moved in.
CAMERAS
DotComGuy: 25; Rodman: 8.
The difference? Nudity is
forbidden in DotComGuy's house.
Rodman's rule: ''Take a claim
check and drop your clothes at the door.''
COST
RodmanTV: $29.95 per month.
DotComGuy: free (but his
sponsors get plugged often).
WHERE THE CAMERA ISN'T
In DotComGuy's bathroom and shower.
In
Rodman's bedroom: ''Nothing happens in my bedroom,'' he says.
Riiiiight.
FAMOUS HOUSEGUESTS
Ed McMahon and Incubus dropped in on
DotComGuy.
Korn and Eddie Vedder hang at chez Rodman. What about
Carmen Electra? ''I wouldn't even allow her to come here,'' he
says.
SOUNDTRACK
''You never can go wrong with the '70s, like KC &
the Sunshine Band,'' says Rodman.
DotComGuy plays ''mainstream
rock & roll, country.''
WORST PARTY MOMENT
Rodman: ''A girl passing out in my house when
she took too much GHB.''
DotComGuy: ''My first true college keg
party.''
HOW TO GET KICKED OUT
DotComGuy: ''Foul language.''
Rodman:
''Talking s---.''
(Hey, maybe these guys aren't so different after all.)
