By now, we've all heard rap-jazz-soul fusion, and this third offering in the Jazzmatazz series lacks the thrill of the new its predecessors possessed. Still, Guru knows how to do sophisticated, refined soul, and when his gravelly bass mingles with Erykah Badu's floating sigh on ''Plenty,'' or he and the Roots get politically funky on ''Lift Your Fist,'' innovation suddenly takes a backseat to old-fashioned groove.
