House music producer Ian Pooley has more soul than most of his fellow German electronica auteurs, and Since Then is full of supple and sensual grooves. Unfortunately, when Pooley aspires to songcraft, he falls short. His lack of a feel for melody shows on ''Visions,'' where he lets vocalist Kirsty Hawkshaw butcher one of Since Then's few actual tunes. C+
