Details Lead Performance: Talib Kweli & Hi-Tek; Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

Talib Kweli, half of righteous hip-hop duo Black Star, drops his overdue debut Reflection Eternal with help from beat master Hi-Tek. The long guest list includes De La Soul, Black Star partner Mos Def, and Kool G Rap. Squeezing the history of R&B-with-a-conscience into 70 minutes is a tall order, and the record wanders. Still, the dedication is undeniable: ''We don't live for hip-hop. It lives for us,'' Kweli raps on ''Soul Rebels.'' Gotta serve somebody. B-
