Esquivel shoes -- Drew Carey, Gwen Stefani, and Matthew Perry are fans of the footwear line

Drew Carey playing footsie with Gwen Stefani and Matthew Perry? Not exactly, but they are all devotees of designer George Esquivel's custom footwear. The 30-year-old Anaheim, Calif.-based ex-truck driver switched to podiatric fashion five years ago (early pairs featured Beatles-inspired pointy-toes). Now celebs like Seth Green snap up his high-end Esquivel line (from $350 for leather to $2,000 for alligator), his mid-priced Joe's Garb, and a soon-to-be-launched women's brand, all available on his websites (www.esquivelshoes.com and www.joesgarbshoes.com). Esquivel says he draws inspiration from ''American rock & roll and American movies'' — in fact, that's an Esquivel shoe Pamela Anderson spits out in Lit's ''Miserable'' video — and designs for ''the cool guy who doesn't look like a model.'' Well, almost. Earlier this year, Esquivels shod the handsome feet on the runway at Richard Tyler's men's fashion show.
