The Beatles in Rishikesh (2012)

EW's GRADE
C

Details Writer: Paul Saltzman; Genres: Memoir, Music, Nonfiction, Philosophy and Religion; Publisher: Viking Studio

Paul Saltzman's heavily illustrated travelogue The Beatles in Rishikesh follows the mop tops' 1968 trek to India to seek out the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, with Mia Farrow and her song-inspiring sister Prudence along for the journey. It's a pleasant enough read — and never feels like a crass cash-in — but considering how much of it focuses on Saltzman's own spiritual discovery, it will please only the most completist Beatlemaniac.
