The Mighty Aphrodite has a new shell. Giving up her rental in Los Angeles, Academy Award winner Mira Sorvino has purchased a contemporary-style house near the beach. Built in 1973, the 4,000-square-foot home sits behind gates on approximately one acre and features a pool -- not to mention an impressive six bathrooms. (Bob Hurwitz of the Hurwitz-James Co. had the listing.) Sorvino is also the proud owner of a sizable guest cottage, a 3,000-square-foot retreat with two bedrooms and two bathrooms of its own. So while the star is remodeling, she and Oscar won't need to shack up at the local Motel 6.
