The Life of Python (2012)

Last year, the Monty Python troupe reunited to mark their 30th anniversary, and the boxed set The Life of Python (complete with official documentary) happily, if irreverently, commemorates the occasion. Several new bits recapture the old spark; so do behind-the-scenes looks at classic sketches like ''The Spanish Inquisition.'' But it's the freshly unearthed material that makes this a must-see. Their ''Mayday Special,'' surveying such regional traditions as ''Nun Boiling Week,'' is laugh-out-loud funny, even for fans who only go the half Monty. B+
