gotta tell you (2012)

Think of 17-year-old Samantha Mumba as Ireland's answer to Christina and Britney. Though the black, braided Dubliner (who cowrote almost every track on gotta tell you) boasts she's no prefab popster, her run-of-the-mill R&B relies more on production than personality. Still, Mumba has a seductive voice: Her soulful delivery imbues ''Lately'' with genuine emotion, and ''Body to Body'' — which precociously samples David Bowie's ''Ashes to Ashes'' — is appealingly sassy.
