A captivating expansion of the Saturday-morning cartoon series on The WB, this video original takes the premise of the show (in a futuristic Gotham, an elderly Bruce Wayne mentors a young new Batman named Terry McGinnis) and runs with it. Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker's stylized animation is thrillingly effective, and there's fab evil-voicing by Mark Hamill as the Joker, who emerges from the past to harass this new hero. Vintage characters like Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, and even Ace the Bathound are folded into what proves to be a surprisingly emotional adventure.
