Bag Ladies

The stars love Isabella Fiore

Spotlight-savvy starlets are saying ciao, bella to kicky handbags from L.A.-based Isabella Fiore. The totes, which go for $300-500, boast whimsical animals (bead-bedecked monkeys, cats, pugs); fruits and florals; and kitschy hula- and cowgirls. Aside from having a celeb following that includes Meg Ryan and Julia Roberts, the bags have appeared on Friends (on kooky Phoebe), Ally McBeal, and Will & Grace. Rumor has it Christina Aguilera liked the popular Hiroko model because she thought the bag's buxom, blond Japanese girl resembled her. ''We've got fans ranging in age from 17 to 70,'' notes Jennifer Tash, one half of the design duo that launched Isabella Fiore (from ''beautiful flower'' in Italian) in 1995. ''I mean, both Barbara Walters and Jennifer Aniston love the monkey bag!'' Now, that's monkey business.
