BUMP & RUN Mike Lupica (Putnam, $24.95) The New York Daily Newscolumnist sold film rights to his novel, a satire about the business of pro football, to Universal Pictures.
JOE COLLEGE Tom Perrotta (St. Martin's, $23.95) Bona Fide Productions, which produced Perrotta's novel Election, has optioned his sweetly cynical story about an everyday college joe.
SHOT IN THE HEART Mikal Gilmore (Anchor, $14.95) HBO Films has greenlit a tele-pic of Gilmore's memoir about the 1977 execution of his brother Gary. Agnieszka Holland (Europa, Europa) will direct.
