Human is too glib and uneven to ignite new excitement. Stewart gets visitation rights with the R&B muse on ''Soul on Soul,'' ''It Was Love That We Needed,'' and Macy Gray's ode to infatuation, ''Smitten.'' A silly pop ditty, ''Charlie Parker Loves Me,'' though, takes the bebop king's name in vain. The rocker-cum-blandster preens and poses the musical question ''Do you still think I'm sexy?'' rather than furthering artistic evolution. C+
