On her fifth solo album, the ex-Throwing Muse once again marries her capsized-mind lyrics to lovely melodies. As usual, the results are exquisitely unsettling; like a character in one song, her spooky folk-pop is ''nice, but twisted'' -- pretty on the surface, until you start to suss out what she's saying. ''Let the ache out/Spread it around,'' she sings on ''Silica,'' and that's just what she does, beautifully. A-
