Music Review: 'Group Sounds'

EW's GRADE
C+

Details Lead Performance: Rocket From the Crypt

After 10 years, RFTC have perfected their mix of muscular guitar riffs and bristling horns; it's the songwriting that's hit a dead end. The spastic ''Carne Voodoo'' and the somber ''Ghost Shark'' are effectively menacing, but Sounds congeals too easily, with few cuts measuring up to 1995's dazzling Scream, Dracula, Scream! or the group's numerous 7-inch singles.
