In a career move that eerily recalls a head-banging Pat Boone in leather, the post-Live! Kathie Lee Gifford is getting, well, funky. Besides showing up at music mogul Clive Davis' pre-Grammy bash -- where she hobnobbed with such unlikely cocktail companions as Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit -- Reege's former foil will play a hot-to-trot romance novelist in a steamy May episode of Just Shoot Me. ''When she shows up, she causes a whole lot of trouble,'' says Gifford of her sitcom role. ''She picks David Spade to be her boy toy for sexual favors. [She bribes him with]toys, scooters, pinball machines, and such.'' Despite selling only 36,000 copies of her last pop CD, a sassy Gifford sports a serious 'tude about her music career: ''The world will be thrilled to know I have two new albums coming out for your magazine to trash.''
