Judi Dench, Ian Holm (2000, HBO, 84 mins., PG-13, also on DVD) As in her British sitcom, As Time Goes By, Dench plays a woman who rejoins a wartime love; in this case, though, it's not a man, but an all-girl swing band. Olympia Dukakis, Leslie Caron, and, yes, even Holm -- as a drummer who donned a dress to avoid the war -- play her former musical compadres in this witty and wistful comedy. Sure, you can see the denouement coming a mile away, but thanks to these adorably hammy old pros, you enjoy every note. B+
