A kitschy comedy about the power of a hairdressing competition to invigorate a drab English town whose inhabitants apparently never heard of the healing properties of chocolate or male stripping. There's lots of twinkly pixie dust scattered on the principals, including Alan Rickman as a stylist, Phil; Natasha Richardson as his ex-wife, Shelly; Rachel Griffiths as her girlfriend; and Josh Hartnett as Phil and Shelly's kid caught in the middle. The part of Dame Judi Dench is played by Rosemary Harris. C
