WHO'S ON '1ST'

John Grisham has been given the boot. The prolific James Patterson, who was topping the charts a mere two months ago with Roses Are Red, is back on top. Patterson plugged 1st to Die (850,000 copies in print), his first thriller starring the Women's Murder Club, on the Today show and will hit 10 cities on his tour. Also debuting this week is Maeve Binchy's Dublin-based drama, Scarlet Feather (405,000 copies in print), which preens at No. 3. Binchy got a boost from her Irish following during last week's St. Patrick's Day parade in Chicago, as she rode through the festivities in her very own float. WEEKS FICTION ON LIST
