Until the End of Time

EW's GRADE
B

Details Lead Performance: Tupac Shakur; Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

Although he died five years ago, the rapper's catalog continues to grow with this fifth posthumous release, a two-CD set of material from the sessions for 1996's The Don Killuminati. At his best, 2Pac elevated gangsta boasts into poetic, sorrow-filled ruminations on thug life. But too often on Until the End of Time, post-mortem producers dilute his power with garish backup singers and pop hooks. Not to worry: A late-2001 'Package gives them another chance to get it right.
