All About
Bridget Jones's DiaryB
On screen, the single, lovelorn working girl and diarist isn't the interesting mess she is in Helen Fielding's hilarious bestseller (which is anchored on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice). But a pleasingly fleshed-out Renee Zellweger is thoroughly charming and believably British in the role. And she's well matched by Hugh Grant, luxuriating in naughtiness as Bridget's caddish boss, and Colin Firth as the decent, rich swain who's Bridget's own Mr. Darcy. B
