Iranian director Jafar Panahi uses simple geometry to report complicated sexual and political struggles in the lives of Iranian women, circling the heart of noisy, modern Tehran with an informal, documentary style. Starting in a maternity ward and ending in a jail, each of the women in this looping plot is trapped with no exit. The film eloquently conveys what it looks like to feel locked in and locked out at the same time. A
