Like most overnight successes, Gray has been quietly perfecting his craft for years. The melancholic love tunes on Lost Songs 95-98 — written before his recent U.S. breakthrough album, White Ladder — offers stripped-down acoustic guitar arrangements and Gray's characteristic bittersweet vocals. The beautiful disc will appeal to fans — and to anyone who felt White Ladder was too short at 54 minutes.
