KRS-One, hip-hop's professor, reinforces some old lessons (''Rap is something you do, hip-hop is something we live'') and offers new diatribes about government corruption and corporate domination, even giving shout-outs to high-profile professors Cornel West and Michael Eric Dyson. But the most compelling lectures can't obscure KRS' drab old-school beats and samples on The Sneak Attack. With such a flat attack, listeners may want to skip class.
