Even the most devoted Adam-ites will find little to defend in this clunky supernatural comedy, which pits speech-impaired, son-of-the-devil Sandler against his hell-raising brothers. Misfired gags and astonishingly lackluster special effects abound, and the film's concluding feel-good ''moral'' is the cinematic equivalent of a blazing pitchfork jabbed at your rear.
