Somebody call Ken Burns -- the commies are trying to stamp out jazz! It's hard to believe, but not too long ago choosing an American like Dizzy Gillespie as a role model was a dangerous political choice for a Cuban musician. In this made-for-cable biopic about trumpeter extraordinaire Sandoval, Garcia hits a career high note as a man whose penchant for what the Cuban government calls musica non grata actually puts him and his family in peril.
