With two of musical comedy's most engaging personalities Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick in the same show, this is a theater lover's dream. Lane is all irascible bluff and bluster, while Broderick, by turns elfin and tender, sings with surprising grace. Overlook creator Mel Brooks' occasional lapses in taste, and you'll find a lilt, a joy, and a shine to the material of The Producers.
