In the wake of feature-length cartoon successes like Warner's inspired The Iron Giant, the folks at Disney's animation brain trust have finally shaken the sappy song-and-dance shackles from their pencils and tried something new. It doesn't matter that this pop-culty take on a pseudo-Incan emperor (voiced, for better or worse, by Spade) and his quest to put aside his llama-llama-ding-dong ways and regain his throne is a little on the slight side. The Emperor's New Groovegoes down real easy, kids'll love it, and, besides, evolution is always fun to watch.
