ROYAL TRUX Singles, Live, Unreleased (Drag City) Though they worship the glamour and grit of the Rolling Stones, Royal Trux lack the chops to pull off a convincing imitation. Good thing: Instead of lamely aping familiar blues riffs (remember the Black Crowes?), the band strips away the Stones' now-boilerplate rock cliches and revels in their raw, disorienting essence. RT's self-indulgence can be rough going -- especially if you have a low tolerance for guitar noise -- but this two-CD collection of obscure oddities frequently finds the band at its fractured best.
