OUT TO SEA

Details With: Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau

The Energizer curmudgeons are at it again, this time cruising lonely rich dames at sea. Down-on-his-luck gambler Charlie (Walter Matthau) lures widowed brother-in-law Herb (Jack Lemmon) into a luxury-liner vacation—then Herb discovers they're not berthing in first class but working the floor as dance escorts. The jokes are predictable but the slapstick sequences—Herb teaching clod-footed Charlie to dance—are vaudeville gold. Abetting the geri-antics is a hilarious crew of stellar seniors. B+
