LIVE FLESH (R) Pedro Almodovar goes straighter, and deeper, than we've ever seen him. In his deft adaptation of a Ruth Rendell novel, about a young man (Liberto Rabal) recently released from prison who gets embroiled with two cops (who wrongly put him in jail) and their wives, the director describes the invigorating and sometimes disorienting effects of Spanish democracy after long years of repression under the Franco regime. Of course, since this is Almodovar, the costumes and interior decoration are fabulous too. B+
