Genre: Comedy; With: Richard Dreyfuss
D+
As a middle-aged widowed anthropologist who fudges research he should have been doing in New Guinea by getting his three obstreperous kids to dress native and go oogabooga for the camera, Richard Dreyfuss displays exasperation but not enough Tim Allen-style astringency to power this forced, broad comedy. Only Lily Tomlin, as a scheming academic competitor, shows the kind of maniacal abandon required in such a comedy jungle.
