THE NIGHT AND THE MOMENT Willem Dafoe, Lena Olin, Miranda Richardson (1998, Miramax, R, $103.99) Olin and Dafoe star as a steamy marquise and a womanizing writer of erotica who cross seductive swords one night and parry pleasures until dawn. Wordplay and foreplay are synonymous in this straight-to-tape bodice heaver that's been on the shelf for four years, yet the leads' on-screen fire can't transmute a mannered tale that asks: Once conquered, is a woman desirable? Olin may be, but the film is not. D
