EW's GRADE
B-

Details Rated: PG-13; Length: 122 Minutes; Genres: Action/Adventure, Sci-fi and Fantasy; With: Lacey Chabert, Heather Graham, William Hurt, Gary Oldman and Mimi Rogers; Distributor: New Line Cinema

The famously schlocky '60s TV series has been retrofitted for the computer-geek, familial-anxiety '90s in Lost In Space. Professor Robinson (William Hurt), his wife and brood, and the cowardly saboteur Dr. Smith (Gary Oldman) are engulfed in an alluring miasma of special effects. Eventually, the family meets its fate via an Oedipal time warp of incredible blow-your-mind tackiness. Is any of this, you know, fun? Just barely. But you may remember loving it when you were 6.
