Outraged parents, start your engines. Casting the player as an aspiring mobster, shock-schlock game Grand Theft Auto goes out of its way to flaunt its crime-family values. As you look down from an O.J. Simpson chase-scene perspective, your perverse agenda includes boosting cars, delivering drugs, and evading cops (each of which scores you points) in various urban 'hoods. Dragging citizens out of their cars and beating them is as monotonous as it is discomforting (you earn brownie points with your Mob boss, though), leaving you with outdated graphics and a game that's guilty but hardly a pleasure.
