Montgomery moves gracefully through this theme album about passion and the pain of love. While the big ballads on Leave a Mark (''Hold On to Me'') soar and a mid-tempo tune about divorce (''Little Cowboys Cry'') goes to the gut, the smooth grooves have a slightly numbing effect — nothing a shot of 100-proof honky-tonk won't cure. B
