Don't believe the title: You'll find more substance here than on a lifetime of Rage Against the Machine albums. Avoiding the agitprop sloganeering that's the band's stock in trade, Bad Religion presents their audience with hard questions rather than easy answers on No Substance. Combined with their tuneful, diamond-hard punk rock, it's not only more enjoyable, but genuinely subversive. B+
