Details Lead Performance: Eightball

Is there no limit to hip-hop hubris? Memphis rapper Eightball's solo debut Lost (two discs, plus a third CD of his label mates' upcoming work) drags on for nearly three hours of samey grooves and boilerplate gangsta bravado. Still, the long-winded rapper wisely relies on guests like Master P, Redman, and Busta Rhymes to keep things moving, and tracks like ''360[degrees]'' should further the ascent of Southern-accented rap.
